What does a standard panel miss?

Most annual panels report total and LDL cholesterol, fasting glucose, and a basic metabolic set. They typically skip ApoB (the particle count that drives cardiovascular risk), Lp(a) (a genetic risk factor carried by ~1 in 5 people), fasting insulin (the earliest metabolic warning), hs-CRP (systemic inflammation) and the complete thyroid and sex-hormone axes.

Why is ApoB a better cardiac marker than LDL-C?

LDL-C measures the cholesterol cargo; ApoB counts the particles carrying it — and it's the particle number that determines how much traffic hits your artery walls. Two people with identical LDL-C can have very different ApoB, and major cardiology bodies increasingly treat ApoB as the more accurate risk signal.

What does 'optimal vs normal' mean?

Lab reference ranges describe the middle 95% of the tested population — a population that is largely metabolically unhealthy. 'Normal' means 'common,' not 'good.' We interpret your results against optimal ranges from outcome research, and more importantly against your own baseline over time.

How often should I test?

A full baseline once, then quarterly retests of the markers your protocol targets. Stable markers move to annual cadence; active interventions get measured until they hold.

Do I need to fast?

Yes — 10–12 hours for insulin, glucose and lipids to be interpretable. Morning draws also standardize hormones like testosterone and cortisol.

Can I use labs I already have?

Absolutely. Recent outside labs are imported into your Digital Twin and count toward your baseline — we only order what's missing.

Is Lp(a) worth testing if it's genetic?

Yes — once. If it's elevated, it reshapes how aggressively your other modifiable risks (ApoB, blood pressure, insulin) should be managed.
