Peptide Therapy
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as precise biological signals — some are among the best-validated drugs in modern medicine (GLP-1 agonists are peptides), while others sold online carry more hype than evidence. At Integrated Wellness, peptide therapy means physician-prescribed, pharmacy-sourced compounds matched to your labs — with honest grading of what the evidence does and doesn't support.

What are peptides?
Short protein fragments — typically 2 to 50 amino acids — that bind specific receptors and trigger specific responses: insulin release, growth hormone secretion, tissue signaling. Your body runs on them natively; therapeutic peptides borrow that signaling language with pharmaceutical precision.
Which peptides have strong evidence?
GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide) are peptides with landmark trial evidence for weight and metabolic outcomes. Growth-hormone secretagogues (sermorelin, ipamorelin class) have physiological rationale and clinical use but far thinner outcome data. Many popular 'research peptides' — BPC-157, TB-500 — have mostly animal data and no human trials.
We grade each candidate the way our Evidence Library grades everything: proven, promising, or hype — and we'll tell you which is which.
What are the real risks?
Sourcing is the biggest one. Grey-market 'research use' vials are unregulated — purity, dosing and sterility are unverified, and contamination is documented. Beyond sourcing: hormonal feedback disruption, water retention, glucose effects and unknown long-term profiles for the under-studied compounds. This is precisely why prescription-grade sourcing and physician monitoring matter.
How does Integrated Wellness approach peptides?
Labs first — hormonal axes, IGF-1, glucose, inflammation — so therapy targets a measured deficit, not a trend. Anything prescribed comes from licensed compounding pharmacies, at conservative doses, with retesting on a fixed cadence. If your data doesn't support a peptide, we'll tell you plainly and point at the levers that will work.
Who is a candidate — and who isn't?
Candidates: adults with measured metabolic, body-composition or recovery deficits that validated peptides address, under medical supervision. Not candidates: anyone seeking grey-market shortcuts, pregnant or nursing women, active cancer history without oncology clearance, and anyone unwilling to retest. The screening protects you.

Are peptides legal?
Prescription peptides from licensed pharmacies are legal and regulated. 'Research use only' products sold online sidestep regulation entirely — legally grey and clinically risky. We only work through the former.
Are GLP-1 medications really peptides?
Yes — semaglutide and tirzepatide are engineered peptides, and they're the strongest proof that peptide signaling can produce landmark clinical outcomes when properly developed and dosed.
Do healing peptides like BPC-157 work?
The honest answer: the animal data is intriguing, human trial data is essentially absent. We grade it as unproven — and anything we can't verify against evidence and clean sourcing, we don't prescribe.
How soon are effects measurable?
Depends on the compound — metabolic peptides show lab changes within weeks; body-composition effects take 12+ weeks. Every protocol includes scheduled retesting so effects are measured, not assumed.
